An L fin tube machine is specialized equipment used to produce L-type finned tubes, where a metal fin strip is mechanically wrapped and formed into an “L” shape around the outer surface of a base tube. The fin foot is tightly pressed against the tube, ensuring good heat transfer through close mechanical contact.

Unlike welded finned tubes, the L fin tube machine does not require welding. This makes it suitable for applications with lower operating temperatures and where corrosion protection is important. After finning, the tube can be hot-dip galvanized or aluminum-coated for enhanced corrosion resistance.
